Ar.Sridevi S established the 'Dr. S. V. Padmavathy Trust' in March 2019. The primary purpose of the Trust is to formalize and make transparent the community service we have rendered in the last 15 years. Sridevi has consciously made it her priority to serve the most needy and vulnerable people. We have sponsored most of our work ourselves with support from friends. With a goal of touching more people’s lives and learning from their experiences.
About Our Foundation
Inspired by a life-changing event, Dr.S.V.PADMAVATHY TRUST was established in
2019 in Trichy,Tamil Nadu, INDIA. Over the years,
we are working intensely to improve the lives of
those who are in need.
Our Causes
We work with involvement everyday to better the lives of our charity's recipients through our many portals — including feeding children, funding for education and addressing poverty. ANNADHANAM
(Feeding the homeless)
Project ANNADHANAM provides a sumptuous meal twice a week to elderly, disabled and bedridden people. These people have limited mobility and face difficulties in their basic activities around the house. They may also not have access to or eat 3 meals per day. Sridevi and her volunteers cook lunch for 250 people every week on Tuesdays and Fridays. They pack the lunch and deliver them to the homes of the disabled and to the needy on the platforms around the city.
DRISHYAM
(Supporting the visually impaired)
Project DRISHYAM works on compensating the struggles by the visually impaired. We’ve dedicated a lot of man-hours and invested countless resources to this charitable cause. We support over 21 students and our count is still going.
VIDHYANAAM
(Educating children)
Vidyanaam is a project that focuses on the education of orphaned and semi-orphaned children. In many of these families,where the father has deceased due to alcohol or tobacco abuse are in need of medical help to survive.The children are left in a vulnerable situation with very little income for the family. Vidhyanam ensures that these childrens' education does'nt get spoilt because of situations like malnutrition or economy.
ARANAM
(Raising the life standards of women)
Project Aranam provides shelter to homeless families. There are many reasons why families lose their homes. Natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, fires result in partial or complete damage to homes. In many cases, the home needs major fixing before it becomes inhabitable. Project Aranam recruits volunteers and constructs temporary housing. We also find jobs for the women in the families and ensure their life standards improve.
DHANYA
(Supporting AIDS positive families)
We have now initiated support to 100 AIDS positive families with nutrious food, to enhance their nervous system and get enough protein to process the medicines they intake.
